Mimic Technologies is a small Seattle-based company that sells virtual reality hardware and software with a focus on haptics (or touch enabled applications) and robotics. Mimic customers are primarily medical educators who utilize surgery simulation when training new surgeons. We are seeking to employ enthusiastic individuals who are flexible and willing to occasionally take on duties outside of their primary job focus, which could include sales and technical support, travel to trade shows, customer visits, and light hardware assembly. Our goal is to maintain a positive team environment where everyone truly believes that our work will significantly impact the fields of medicine and robotics.

Software Engineer

Mimic is seeking talented software developers to help create state of the art surgical simulation applications for medical training. The successful candidate will design, implement, and debug software. The candidate will possess an intimate knowledge of software development using C++ as well as a strong background in one or more of the following areas: computational geometry, continuum mechanics, 3D solid modeling, real-time simulation, advanced computer graphics.

Qualifications

• Programming

 

o Expert in C/C++, some experience with Delphi is a plus
o Object Oriented Design, the Standard Template Library, OpenGL, Visual Studio
o Experience working with a large code base under source control (Subversion experience is a plus)

• Technical Skills

 

o Finite-element analysis, continuum mechanics, robotics, hardware/softare interfaces

• Misc

 

o Communication, grant writing

• Education

 

o Bachelors in Software, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering; Masters preferred

Interface Designer

Mimic is seeking a talented interface designer to help create state of the art surgical simulation applications for medical training. The successful applicant will be an expert user of Adobe Director (with experience coding in Lingo), Premier and Dreamweaver. The candidate should also have some skill programming in HTML and C/C++.  The candidate should also have experience in product documentation (i.e., creating help-manuals, product specifications, etc.).  The applicant must be outgoing, an excellent communicator, and completely fluent in English, as the position will require the candidate to regularly interact with customers when gathering product requirements and overseeing product evaluations.
